A Different Way To Approach Family Law

Family law matters such as divorce, parenting arrangements, and financial decisions often arise during already stressful periods of change. I believe the way these issues are addressed can shape not only the process itself, but what comes after.

Many people are not looking for escalation or prolonged conflict. They are looking for a structured, respectful way to make informed decisions and move forward.

Alternative Dispute Resolution

My practice focuses on alternative dispute resolution and out-of-court options, including Collaborative Divorce and Mediation. These processes are designed to support cooperation and thoughtful decision-making.

Whenever possible, they allow individuals to remain actively involved in resolving family-related legal matters, rather than turning decisions over to the court.

Collaborative Divorce

Collaborative divorce is a non-adversarial process in which both parties are represented by collaboratively trained attorneys and commit to resolving matters outside of court.

The process emphasizes open communication, information-sharing, and problem-solving, with the goal of reaching agreements that reflect the specific needs and priorities of the family.

When appropriate, additional professionals may be involved to support financial or emotional aspects of the process.

Mediation

Mediation is a facilitated process that helps individuals work through the issues that must be addressed in a divorce or family law matter.

As a mediator, I support constructive discussion, help identify the issues that require decision-making, and provide legal information when appropriate. I do not make decisions for the parties.

At any point during mediation, participants may also choose to obtain independent legal advice from an attorney of their choice.

Collaborative Mediation

Collaborative mediation combines elements of mediation with structured legal guidance.

In this process, I assist the parties with full financial disclosure, exploration of available options, and preparation of the necessary legal documents to conclude the divorce through the court system, when required.

The focus remains on informed decision-making within a respectful and organized framework.
